Before you build: 6 things to sort out first (from the Pre-Work Guide)
Hello all,
A lot of people start their Skilljar setup and hit avoidable friction early on - not because the platform is hard, but because they didn't have a few things ready before they logged in for the first time.
Here are the 6 things the Pre-Work Guidebook suggests sorting out before you start:
- Gather your brand assets: Your logos, hex codes, favicon. Have them in one folder before you touch the dashboard.
- Choose your training domain name: Keep it simple, memorable, and recognizable. You can't easily change this later.
- Decide your sign-in approach: Native signup forms are the recommended starting point. SSO can come later.
- Round up your existing content: Slide decks, videos, PDFs. You don't need to be polished, just gathered.
- Identify your team: Dashboard admins, SMEs, a marketing contact, and an internal champion.
- Define your Primary Audience: Before you build anything, get clear on who your learners are. Job role, level of experience, what they need to be able to do after training. Everything — your content, your structure, your site - gets easier when this is decided first.
