@dandre what are you trying to embed, not all providers are supported :)

edited my response. Looks like it's picky with youtube URLs. I had to reformat the URL to make it work.

@Julian

The problem in your case is that the owner of the video has disallowed embedding. There is no good way to tell except by using a site like this - enter the video ID (which is rBJLoYd8xak in your case). you can see this video has been restricted from embedding (see below)

The problem is that for *any* video error inSided shows the same error stating the domain is not supported. They should update the error to be more generic or provide better guidance somewhere

Yes, thanks for pointing this out, @dandre. It is true that a better messaging could solve this, I probably also would be confused by this rather generic message. I will share this with the team!

Thanks @Julian !!

Is anyone able to embed Spotify into their posts? I get the

I keep getting domain not supported when I try to add this link

https://open.spotify.com/episode/7rKc9nN7Bq0FPC2kJKmvr9

@aluciani You are correct, we made a mistake in that article (which I corrected just now). Spotify is not yet supported. I would encourage you to create an idea so we can plan to add it later on.

Hi @dandre some great advice here on how to check if a URL is supported for embedding.

Do you know of one for Vimeo?

Hello, this is a great feature! That make's life so much easier, thanks :)

I've got a little problem here: It seems that it will not work out for my PingVP media:

Or am I missing something?

Hello, @Marion Frecaut. Can you help me? :)

Hello @Nadia2 this is strange. I created a bug ticket for the team to investigate the issue. I'll keep you informed.

Would be nice, thank you! :)

Hello @Nadia2 , good news, Embedding Pingvp media should now work again. The issue was actually on their side and they just came back to us to say that the issue is now solved :)

Hi @Marion Frecaut, yes it works :)

Thanks for sorting this out together with Pingvp. The article is more attractive with the video. Well done!

I read through these comments in here, but didn’t sound like folks were having the same issues that I’m having. Sound like Wistia is a supported program for videos, but the issue that I’m seeing is that some posts with a link will work (ie. work=load the videos properly), but other times it doesn’t. I can’t recreate the issue every time, I have some examples:

The link in the screenshot below sometimes shows up as a playable video, but sometimes it doesn’t. This happens both in mobile view and desktop, but not recreateable every time. Has anyone else reported or have had experiences where their video links aren’t fully loading? Is the only solution here to have our audience refresh the page?

Hey,

You’re referring to a screenshot but it looks like you haven’t uploaded it. Do you have a link to the topic? For what it’s worth, users should accept cookies in order to see embedded vide’s. If your users do not accept the full set of cookies we will only display the URL.

Ran into similar issues today with this domain not supported issue. Looks like accepting cookies then allows the link to work just fine. In our case we were trying to embed a Loom video and it kept returning the error, but once we accepted cookies the video embed worked perfectly.

A small update on this topic!

:tada: We have added the following media to be supported for embedding:

In case you want to see how a videoaks looks when embedded in our community. Have a look here

We’re still looking at improving how they display and allowing responses in-product cc @Cristina  :P

But this is a good start 🚀

Thanks for sharing, I like the tool and how it looks! :)

It’s very versatile. Will run some community webinars next year to showcase its power. I’ll make sure to share around here :innocent:

Does anyone have a hack for embedding loom videos? It is not consistently working for me when I copy and paste my looms. I suspect there is something quick I’m missing that affects it’s ability to embed (cookies?), wondering what you do when copy and paste doesn’t work and insided says link isn’t supported?

Hmm so cookies could play a role here, for embedding media (usually) the highest cookie level (level 3) needs to be selected in order for this to work. I don’t know how it is with Loom, but if it is caused by cookie settings, you would only see the url and not the embed itself. Is that what you are seeing?

I sometimes see that users try it with an embed code instead of the url. We usually embed directly via the url and not an embed code…

Let me know if this helped, otherwise I would recommend to contact our support team and provide them with an example if possible.
