Ability for users to edit their own username

Hi everyone,

One of the things that has become an administrative headache for me since launching our community is that users cannot edit their own username. This seems like such a basic feature that Gainsight should have, and it would prevent a lot of unneeded overhead that community teams deal with. There’s an existing idea on this, vote on it!

Please consider prioritizing this Gainsight, it is such low hanging fruit and would be a big value add immediately for most teams and this is a gap compared to other leading community products.

Thank you for surfacing this, @AustinGrimes ! I completely agree this would be a huge help and hopefully a low-lift to accomplish.

A note as someone who also has ideas in their community, highly recommend everyone not only upvote, but also add comments! Especially helpful comments on ideas are those with specifics to the request and explanation of impact on your work.

I added a comment too, good idea! 🙂

I added my vote as well, as this seems like a basic feature they should offer.

Big +++ on this! I also would really like to be able to use “first name” in emails not just usernames as often those can make the emails feel like spam. You can upvote here if you agree:

Evidently, this has been raised before

This one received 108 votes but Gainsight “parked” it without any explanation. This would be such a great thing to implement, an easy quick win for community teams!
