Hello,

I love this topic! I’m curious to hear what others reply with!
As for me, I’m just using Gemini
as part of our Google Workspace subscription at the moment. Due mostly to a very strict security posture.
But I also use AI in other tools like Zapier when it’s embedded within those tools. For example, I use it to write short documentation descriptions when we index our documentation for federated search; this description is sent as part of the the API payload.
Nothing AI directly integrated into the community UX or moderation yet, but plenty of automation via Zapier based on webhooks the the CC API (examples below). These are all things I’ll look to super charge with AI or replace with AI as additional AI features are added to CC.
I talk more about this about 15-20 minutes into the session if anyone reading this is interested.
We considered putting an AI chatbot into the community, to be able to answer questions directly. But then we realized that the whole point of a community is to allow users to help each other. If everyone’s question is answered automagically by a chatbot, then what’s the point?!
However, at some stage, I hope to scan questions using AI, in order to alert our support teams to urgent issues that should perhaps have come straight to us.
Also, I notice that the community API is OpenAPI compliant. I think this means I should be able to hook up an AI to it so I can issue commands as a conversation - for example, “award the ‘new user’ badge to user xyz please”
So much to try out, and so much more on the horizon.
Mark
We’ve been leveraging tools like Glean, Gemini/ChatGPT, and Workato/Google Apps Script to enhance how we interact with and extract value from our community.
It really depends on the task, but generally, we use the API to pull data out of the community for analysis and automation powered by AI.
A great example is how we handle ideas submitted by users. We extract these ideas, analyze them against our roadmap, summarize them using AI, and surface the most relevant ones to the right internal teams.
AI has been incredibly helpful in learning the API, building scripts with webhooks, and automating data retrieval. It's made what used to be complex tasks much more accessible—even for those without deep technical backgrounds.
Overall, AI is playing a key role in helping us better understand, support, and act on the voice of our community.
