We need the ability to set automated alerts for community managers and moderators to be notified via email or Teams when certain keywords are mentioned or a question goes without any replies for a specified duration of time. 

In the first use case, we want to be able to configure a set of keywords to scan for an alert our moderation team immediately if those are mentioned in any threads (questions, conversations). When I was at Jive, we had a capability like this called keyword interceptors that was popular with community managers.

This has implications both for our ability to monitor and respond promptly to critical events, but also to build awareness and support for the Community in other teams across our organization.

In the second use case, we need to automate email notifications to an internal distribution list that alerts them when a topic has gone without a reply or answer for more than x amount of time. We are partially able to do this with a custom script today, but it would be preferable if this was something we could configure in Control. Thanks!

Hey ​@JKelley! You can achieve all this (and more) with Zapier.

On the keyword side of things, we’ve got a similar setup here at Calendly that includes keyword, URL, and AI spam detection (albeit that last one is with Zapier + WinstonAI). All 3 of those end up sending Slack notifications to our moderation channel with different types of prompts. We’ve also got an automation that sends an alert about new content within a specific forum to our developer team.

Hey ​@jillian.bejtlich thank you for the quick reply - I would love to see that and chat more about these use cases whenever! I recall seeing that about Zapier - we’re an MSFT and Teams shop and some hoops to jump through to introduce other apps into our stack. However, I do see some openings to propose things and regardless would LOVE to see what you’ve done. We have a custom script set up that sends email notifications out to our support leads and moderators, but have bumped up against API constraints in terms of not being able to filter records returned at a more granular level and needing to explore more options all around. Hey ​@JKelley I am pretty sure you can achieve this via PowerAutomate. I ran a few other Gainsight API and Webhook actions through PowerAutomate without any issue!
