Do API calls add to page views or unique visitors?
Do API calls impact the analytics reports in Control?

No, this should not affect the page views / unique visitors count in any way. The API retrieves the data directly from the database and does not "visit” the content via the community url in any way. So the way that we (and also GA and other analytical tools) are measuring traffic cannot register if you use an API call.
