Hey folks, TL;DR is that we are using the user groups function to do a cohort learning program. One of the ideas for “graduating” from the cohort is active community participation, specifically in their private group. We want to specifically track that people are posting a question, conversation, or reply in that group 2x a week.

AFAIK, Groups data only shows Content (# posts created, # likes received, etc.). We could build a user segment of all members within cohort group, but that also only gives us surface level # of posts, replies, likes — we would have to manually look at each user profile to check their specific posting activity.

Is there any way to look at Group activity for members within Analytics that I am missing? Maybe with the new Dashboards Beta?

@Gcheung

As an idea, for the posts and topics at least. Likes I cannot think of anything yet.

If you do a posts export from the analytics in CC.

You can the filter on your groups. you will find them as the subforum title, also without a category title.

You can then pivot table just to you groups and users to see their contributions.

Thanks @Alistair FIeld, this is an interesting workaround! Unfortunately seems like it would still be manual work, but maybe there’s just nothing in the product right now that can get as granular as we’re looking for
