What are the "Upcoming changes to your topic page"?

Hi!

I got this pop-up when entering the control environment today. What changes are coming? So that we know what to look for. 🔍

Is this accessibility related? If not, when are the next milestone(s) going live? Haven’t heard anything about that in a while.

Hey @JeppePeppe! Currently, we render first posts and replies separately, which prevents interaction between the two. We are creating a new component to render them together (html structure will change slightly), which might affect custom CSS, if any. This change is essential for an Ai translations improvement. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Hi @JeppePeppe - this particular release is not related to accessibility.  I’ll see about getting some more details posted here.

GREAT question! I was wondering the same thing.

Thanks for the details @Sudhanshu. A quick follow-up: I use CSS to hide this box that shows when there are zero replies. Do you know if this is impacted by the changes?

zero replies box

Regardless, kudos to the Gainsight team for stepping up their proactive comms for this upcoming change. I was very happy to see that pop up yesterday so that I could block the time and anticipate/investigate potential impact to our custom CSS. Thanks you!

Hi @DannyPancratz,

I have reviewed the custom code you implemented, and unfortunately, it will not function correctly following the recent changes. In fact, it will need to be removed entirely, as it could cause issues with the visibility of topic content.

The good news is that we have added a new class specifically for topics with zero replies. By adding the following code:

.topic-replies--no-reply { display: none; }

you will be able to hide that box. This solution will work across all topic types, eliminating the need to add extra code for ideas and PUs. Additionally, since this does not require any scripting, it can be implemented through the custom CSS section.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Wow @dilekgencer! THANK YOU!

I’ve removed that third party script and added that custom CSS, so that we’re ready for this change next week. Thanks again!
