Assign Playbook Tasks to Formula Fields
+1Playbook tasks cannot currently be assigned to owners via a formula field. This added functionality would enhance this feature.
What is the return value in the formula field? If it's a user Id, you can simply push this to a user lookup field type in SFDC which will allow you to assign the tasks out. In order to dynamically assign ownership, the field type has to be a user lookup.
