100 percent of the time if i try to build an email template, the preview comes out fine but the actual test email that gets sent the formatting is all off, Fonts, Sizes, Spacing, text colors… nothing matches what i actually designed.

Will the template editor ever get fixed?

I’d like to add on here. We, too, experience frequent difficulties with the new style template builder. It frequently displays completely differently in Outlook (upon sending a test email), and may even appear differently across different versions of Outlook.

Using formatting like bullet points/ordered/unordered lists can throw off the entire template - frequently undoing any bold or italicizing of text above. This leads to adding additional text blocks to avoid going insane, but that’s a compromise because adding new text blocks can throw off the look and spacing of the email.

This is quite impactful to my team as we get frequent last minute “can you get this email out” requests and it may take us hours (no exaggeration) to get the email template to behave and display how we want. it’s an admin QOL issue at this point.

Hi @Aporzio1  & @dcassidy

Raising this internally with the team.

 Hi  @Aporzio1  & @dcassidy

Apologies for this experience.

Have you raised this with our support team ? Our team will urgently look into it.

Thanks

Are you copying text from elsewhere? Make sure to Paste as Plain text or clear formatting after pasting since what often happens is hidden HTML/CSS tags will get copied over and mess with the template. For some reason those issues get revealed more so after sending than after previewing.

I’ve been redesigning the formatting from scratch every time and haven’t experienced any issues since I started doing that, but then again I agree this is problematic. Especially if you have something more “custom” that would be super painful or impossible to recreate in Gainsight’s in-built editor.

Yes, and thats what I do now to be able to use it, but this is what I mean by horrible experience.

Thanks for your reply - we had one of our Ops team members submit an NPS where she mentioned a lot of the issues with the builder, and she worked with someone at Gainsight to show them the issues we have.

Ultimately, the experience, overall, is lacking and unless you’re someone who’s a full-time email creator who understands every strange facet of template builders and WYSIWYG editors, you’re stuck playing around and then sending test emails to random people on various versions of Outlook and praying that you covered as many bases as possible.

I don’t think I’d be remiss in stating that I’m echoing other GS admins sentiments here when I say “if I could use ANYTHING else, I likely would”.
