Hey Community,

I am trying to embed a tableau dashboard link on to a Gainsight dashboard and getting an error stating: dashboard refused to connect.

There are 2 questions here -

  1. Is Gainsight application hosted within a company’s domain or is it somewhere else?

  2. Does every Gainsight instance have an IP address? If yes, where can I find it?

Hello @SaifSN

Hope you’re doing great.

The Dashboard Refused to connect error usually occurs when embed view parameter is not included in Tableau Dashboard URL.

In order to resolve this error, You can refer to these steps-

1. Ensure that the 'embed view' parameter is included in the URL of the Tableau dashboard.
2. The correct URL format should be: 'https://<Customer Domain>-my.sharepoint.com/❌/g/personal/<Owner Email>/<Asset ID>?e=XYZXYZ&action=embedview'.

Please make sure there is no connectivity issue, If the error shows it may be due to firewall settings or may need domain allowlisting. Make sure that the domain listed in the surveys FAQs are allowlisted in your IT infra. You can also refer to this articles for allow list.
