6.18 FOR SFDC CUSTOMERS

For SFDC customers, the release is live in your production orgs on October 13. We have some draft release notes available for your review and will finalize those soon.

FEATURE RETIREMENTS IN PROGRESS FOR SFDC CUSTOMERS

  • Survey 1.0: As of the last release (6.17) you can no longer create new surveys using Survey 1.0. Gainsight recommends customers manually review their existing 1.0 surveys, and migrate them to Surveys 2.0, as well as create any new surveys using Survey 2.0. Survey 1.0 functionality will be completely shut down by Feb 15, 2021, so please plan to migrate your surveys to Survey 2.0 before that date. For more information, refer to the Survey 1.0 Deprecation/Retirement FAQs article.

  • Success Snapshots 1.0: Back in April, we removed the ability to create new 1.0 Snapshots. With the October v6.18 release, we are removing the ability to export existing 1.0 Snapshots. For more information, refer to the Overview of Success Snapshots 2.0 article.

  • Scorecard 1.0: We are planning on shutting down all Scorecard 1.0 functionality by Feb 15, 2021,so please migrate your Scorecards to Scorecards 2.0 prior to that date. For more information, refer to our Scorecards 2.0 enablement article. You can also contact support@gainsight.com for help with migrating your Scorecard 1.0 configuration to Scorecard 2.0.

OTHER NOTES FOR SFDC CUSTOMERS

  • Cockpit UI Update - This feature will not be available for SFDC edition customers. This is a limitation of the architecture in the SFDC edition of Gainsight. If you have not already done so, please talk to your Gainsight Client Outcomes Manager about upgrading to Gainsight NXT to find out more.

OCTOBER RELEASE FOR PX CUSTOMERS

The PX release will also be on Oct 13, and includes enhancements such as:

  • PX now supports the Google Search API as a native integration to allow customers to search for, preview, and access publicly available articles, as indexed by Google.

  • PX supports User Preferences per user, one of which determines if users have opted for “product updates.” Now, customers have a way to toggle a checkbox on any engagement to specify it as a “Product-Update.” Previously, they could only do this via the public API.

  • Admins can transfer ownership of custom dashboards and reports to another Admin.

I’m sad that the Cockpit UI update isn’t available for SFDC… :sob:

Totally understandable, Faust. We’re making as many new features available on both editions as possible but sometimes there are limitations that are out of our hands within the Salesforce platform.

@dan_ahrens  are the TImeline Horizon updates going to show up in SFDC environments who are opted out of auto-updates?

Opted out SFDC customers will not get the new Timeline Horizon updates.

@dan_ahrens  thanks Dan.  what about if we request a Sandbox update - will that affect production at all?

We’ve seen in the past where when we update Sandbox, it has oddly had some impact on Prod...

Sandbox and Production environments are different orgs and in the case of SFDC edition, they can be on different versions (though we do not recommend it).

@dan_ahrens  I know that - but in a conversation we had with GS product, Maksim (and possibly you?) a couple months ago we noted how there were some changes introduced to our Prod environment unexpectedly (Sally), without an update - we were asked if we updated Sandbox and we said yes.  It was then mentioned that there can be some slim cases where requesting a Sandbox update could result in certain things being propagated to Prod.

Just wanted to make absolutely certain that if we update our Sandbox to be able to vet the Timeline changes that it wouldn’t inadvertently show in Prod.

Hi Jeff, Sandbox updates do not impact Production environments. I’ll follow up with you via email on your specific question in case you have further questions.

That was always my understanding as well.  Perhaps someone misspoke in our prior conversation with product.

Very cool

End user feedback on the Timeline Horizon Experience in SFDC - “The look is much cleaner, but the lighter background give less contrast between posts. Its hard to see where post ends and the next one begins” Thank you!

Check out the screenshot. On the “Contacts” section of the C360, there is some extra white space at the bottom of the contacts which makes it seem like it is the end of the available contacts. There should be a box around this, or one of those subtle fade-outs, to indicate that you can scroll (the scroller only shows up after you start scrolling).

Example of my first experience with this: https://share.vidyard.com/watch/aWgGWYDRPZ6f1sFSoRhSgj?

@dan_ahrens any insight on this and its impact from the Horizon Experience rollout?

@foster.sean92 this looks to be an issue that support should help with. It’s not behaving that way in any orgs that I have access to for testing, so might be something else.

@gunjanm  we haven’t brought the Horizon Experience to the C360 yet, but hope to do so soon. :)

@dan_ahrens ah gotcha, I thought it was Horizon, but probably just NXT as we’re new on that. @foster.sean92 let’s chat about opening up a support ticket.

Thanks for the update to timeline UI but can we please add two features back in from the prior version?

  • The “pencil” button on the timeline entry to allow for quick editing of the entry, versus needing to now click the three dots and then click Edit. Having this button next to the Comments button would be very very useful.
  • On Calendar for the date of entry posting, there used to be a “today” button. Can we get that back?

Thanks for the feedback, @preethm! We are looking into the first bullet point. For the second, you should have ‘Today’ at the bottom of the date picker. Is it getting cut off for you?

Thanks, @jessica_owens. We are working on tweaking the contrast, font size, etc. to make it more readable. Also, there are some important updates coming very soon, such as the refresh button, usability of inline tasks, and the ability to capture activity time.

Please keep the feedback coming!

@manu_mittal Yes, when the browser is a little smaller, as seen in your screen shot, the calendar is on the top and the Today button is shown. But if you make your browser a bit bigger towards bottom of screen, you’ll see Calendar widget moves to bottom of browser and that’s where the TODAY button is hidden.
