We want to use powerlists and use the rules engine, journey orchestrator, or programs to send emails on best practices and better ways to use our product to individual users within our customer's company. the emails of these users are found in our mixpanel data, and also have a lookup to our accounts in gainsight and salesforce. but these specific users aren't contacts in salesforce at all. I've been reading up on powerlists on Gainsight GO and it seems you can only use contacts in salesforce for email automation. Is there a way to use these external emails? for example use a rule to look at the Mixpanel MDA object and find users/email addresses with certain criteria and then send them all a specific email? or is the use really solely possible with salesforce contacts.

Hi Oscar, with what it looks like, if only sending emails is the concern; you can definetely use the following options :
1.) Bionic query as a source in your Program to bring data from any of the MDA objects and then map them to the respective participant fields to send emails via programs.
2.) You can also explore Event as a source for programs given a need for a more real-time use case where based on a business event or activity in your system, you can push the relevant data (email ids and account ids in this case) to Gainsight events API and your program subscribed to that event can consume the same and send emails based on your Program configuration.
Hope it helps :)
NOTE : Having Surveys and CTAs as part of your program would need you to have your recepients in question either as Salesforce contacts or as Gainsight Company Person based on the strategy and use case.

Thanks Ashish, this sounds promising. I'll look into it
