The following are the key highlights of User Management as a part of the 6.23 release:

  • Internal Collaborator and External are the two new license types that will be introduced to manage users better in Gainsight instances. There will not be any extra charges for accessing these license types.

  • ‘Unlicensed' license type will no longer be available in Gainsight. Every existing ‘Unlicensed' active user with 'Internal' system type will be assigned an Internal Collaborator license.

  • All ‘Unlicensed' active users with ‘External' system type will be assigned an External license.

  • While importing users from external systems or Salesforce, users' status (active/inactive) will be honored.

  • (Only applicable to Salesforce) Gainsight users' (who're added from Salesforce) license type will be updated based on the permission sets assigned to them in Salesforce.

For more information on these enhancements, refer to the NXT and SFDC articles.

Does this mean only applicable to SFDC edition or does it also apply to NXT edition who are linked to a SFDC instance?

Edit: Found it in NXT notes linked above notes

  • While importing ‘Active’ users from the external systems (Salesforce, Dynamics, or Slack), will be assigned ‘Internal Collaborator’ license by default.

@kyle_handley  This is only applicable to SFDC Edition and not applicable to NXT edition who are linked to a SFDC instance. FYI @soumitrasahu@neelam_mukherjee@sai_ram
