What are the benefits to using the new Person section of Gainsight?

What are the benefits of using the Person section over just having data from the contact object on the C360 page? Right now we have the contacts section on our C360 where they can get to contacts and edit them in SFDC. But I am struggling to see the value of adding another section on users without understanding what the value of it is.

    Thanks for the inquiry Ky.  The Person section in the C360 is step one of our broader initiative to expand the use of Person throughout Gainsight.  We are working on features such as Org Chart View, Person 360, and allowing you to have Persons in GS that may or may not be contacts in SFDC that will be coming down the road within the Product.  Today, you can choose to continue using Contacts and GS Connect to sync to Person - as we release the new features there will be even more compelling reasons for this!
