Relationships are a BIG part of the Gainsight platform. I understand that it’s a great way to segment different products/relationships/business units etc. and have an individual page to display information for the relationship. Outside of having a unique page for the relationship, what features and functionality are only available by using relationships?

For example (and this may not be true but just the type of information I’m looking for) - Activity Types can be made available for specific relationship types. This allows you to control what types of activities can be logged against different relationships.

Hello there🤗

There are several technical advantages to using relationships in data bases; specially relational databases like postgres and php. connections provide the foreign and major keys that link tables; ensuring data consistency. By performing this; irregularities like separated information and errors are prevented and data uniformity and precision are maintained across tables. By allowing successful joins, reducing requirements for duplicate storage of information; and improving overall system productivity, connections also improve query speed. They also make complex information collection and manipulation tasks simpler; allowing programmers to create reliable apps that efficiently handle linked data structures.

There are many features like the one you listed.

Yes you can create timeline types at the Rel level. You can also create individual scorecards, CTA types, SPs, and I think Customer Goals.

The best way to describe the benefits of relationships is that it is essentially a way for multiple people/roles collaborate on multiple segmentations.

Take GS for example, they use relationships in different ways. They use it in the traditional sense where they have different R360’s for products. But, they also have different R360’s for engagements.

Because relationships gives you a way to segment out a slice of data and only display it.

But, more on your question, you essentially can create an entire different environment from one relationship type to the other. Different CTAs, SPs, SCs, Reports, Rules, Different Dashbaords, etc.
