Assign points (or badges) to users individually or in batch from Control

Thanks @SmartlyGreg! As you know, we’re considering bulk actions directly from the user overview and this is one of the cases we could accommodate for. I am wondering, however, to which extent this is a workaround for not having enough criteria to award badges (currently 4 criteria) and points (currently 5 criteria). Could you shed your light on this? As in: if you could award a badge based on more criteria (and maybe even award points when getting a certain badge), which use cases would still remain where you need to bulk award points from the user overview?

@Sebastian thanks for your questions. I think the criteria assume that badges need to be awarded based on InSided actions, but we feel there is huge value in tying the real world with the digital community. Hope it makes sense. 

@SmartlyGreg Yes, for now the scope for awarding points and badges (and improvements made there) are based on community activity only. So your use case would be to award points to users based on actions outside of the community, and bulk awarding points or badges would make that easier?

@Sebastian  I mean TBH it feels strange that such things are not default to me. If I can control it at individual level, then why not in bulk? When we started I needed to assign the early adopters a matching badge, and this had no way of being done apart from individually. 

Workarounds like assigning to everyone upon joining and removing it are helpful but means that things need to be planned in advance and not scheduled. For the early adopter badge there was an email attached to it and it was assigned to people a week after joining in order to attempt a nudge back to the community.

@Sebastian, We totally need Points as a configurable option for a manual and auto badges.

also I’d go on to say, make the Badges shareable on Social so that they can celebrate getting the badge, like a Credly badge.

Awesome insight @anirbandutta. Are you saying that you’d also like to award points along with a badge?

As for bulk awarding badges from the user overview, we might just address that in the short term as a quick win.
