Calendar invites and auto-emails for registered event attendees
Having the ability to create events is great, however not being able to send confirmation emails, reminder emails, or a calendar invite to attendee’s isn’t ideal.
At least giving them the option to select iCal, Google Cal, etc. on the event attendee confirmation pop-up would be an improvement. Email confirmations and reminders are a must though.
Follow up- being able to pull GET requests via the API for Event Attendee’s so we can take our own action when someone signs would be helpful.

Hey @daniel.boon, this is great to hear that you’re working on GTW/Zoom integrations, that would help a lot in converting our registrants on platform to actual attendees. And I believe these two tools are the most popular ones!
A few other comments from my side:
What if we have User Group (entirely driven by our customers) and they are using their own Zoom or GTW, how they can get connected to this integration? Probably for such cases, I would envision some reminder notification which can be sent to registrant from inSided (and easily set up in Control panel)
Do you consider adding other calendars to event widget? e.g. Outlook? I heard from some of our US customers that Google calendar doesn’t work for them and they missed event because there was no calendar block in their calendar.
That would be great to hear your feedback on this

Great question @Kseniya - probably this wouldn’t be a ‘webinar’ (which I think is treated differently in Zoom to a regular call), so indeed this would also require an email notification on our platform.

Thanks for sharing this feedback from your users! Yes we’ve considered this, but I don’t currently haven’t any specific timelines for when we’d add support for more calendar types (the same applies to integrations with webinar software).
Hey @daniel.boon , how to include the ‘add to google calendar’ option?
@Gabolino it is shown by default for end users after you’ve created an event - it shows on the event page itself, rather than on the overview.
@daniel.boon any plans to provide for webinars/events to be added to other calendars as well: Apple, Office 365, Outlook, and Yahoo? Also, we’d love to be able to forward event-invitations by email (also to non community members), it would help drive attendance if our customer success teams could have an automated way to spread these. Is that something you’d be able to look into?
We use Outlook as do some of our customers, so the options to consider other calendars such as Apple, Outlook, etc. would be great.
@daniel.boon Has there been a discussion around a “Subscribe” button in the events page, similarly to how it is available in each child category of a forum?
@daniel.boon to add: most customers in the industries our customers are in use Outlook, there is very little use of other calendars
@Anitahg@security_lion Hi! Moving forward, I’ll be the product manager driving improvements in Events. Nice to meet you and thanks for your feedback so far!
We’re planning on making some improvements to Events in H2 this year, and making sure that customers don’t miss events is one of our goals, for which this idea a good solution.
@Anitahg What would be the desired result for forwarding event invitations to other customers? As I see it, recipients of that invitation should still register for the event, right?
@security_lion What would the Subscribe button do?
@Sebastian Congratulations! Look forward to seeing how you lead innovations in this key component.
From my understanding, when a user Subscribes to a forum, they receive an email when a new post is made. Similarly, if someone subscribes to events, they would receive an email notifying them that a new event has been published.
I would want the email to include event details such as:
Event Image
Event Title
Date/time/timezone
Location
Description
RSVP button which leads to the event page
Thanks @security_lion! That makes a lot of sense. There’s actually already an idea that describes your suggestion. Make sure you vote and weigh in on that thread as well!
