Hi,

On Insided I can only remove user posts or ban… and this way is simple when dealing with spammers.

But for other users I’d add simple warning point system. For example:

  • 1 warning = notification (+ some warning badge on the user’s profile or under avatar).
  • 3 warnings = time ban (1 month for eg.)
  • 5 warnings = perm ban

Of course I’d make it more adjustable in terms of how long the time ban would be or how many points = timeban / permban and so on. I’d also add an option - is the warning is permanent (or till admin/mod remove it from user) or is it time based (for eg. it automatically clears after year).

Hmmm this could be a good idea for really big communities but don’t you think in smaller communities a private message from a moderator would be enough for a warning?

That’s why I’m asking for this thing. We’re not small community. Private message is not an option.

Now we have only 0/1 options - not ban, and ban user. But wanting some in between as mentioned in my main post.
