Currently when using the Communities API to create a new Idea entry, nothing is returned in the response. This makes makes it a requirement to then perform a search for the newly created Idea. Doing this programmatically would be difficult to be 100% sure the result is the new record. The response should return the identifier value of the newly created record.

This appears to be true for other endpoints when creating objects. We’re getting into programmatically posting articles and it’s the same thing; create to draft, no ID returned, search for the draft then publish based on found draft ID. New objects via an API should always return the new object ID in the response.
