Right now we are in the process of reviewing data permissions in our organization. It’s simple enough to set data permissions (record visibility) for key parent-level objects (Company and Relationship for example.
But now we are addressing other related objects, such as Timeline, Call-to-Action, Success Plans, etc. It would be amazing if I could set the visibility of these objects based on the visibility of the parent record it belongs to. For example, if the user is not able to see the Relationship record, they should also not be able to see the Activities that roll up to it.
Alternatively, it would be great if I could set the permissions for an object based on a lookup field. For example, I have a controlling field that exists on the Relationship object. If I could set permissions for the CTA object based on that field, by virtue of the lookup to the Relationship object, this would also address my concerns.
