It would be nice to be able to filter out companies or sort by fields in the search bar in Gainsight. Specifically by account/company type.

Common feedback we receive from our CSM’s is to make only the logo level searchable. Reason being we only work out of the Logo level in Salesforce. The Regional, Company, and Clinic account/company types are only for reference to our software.

As we continue to go up-market finding the logo becomes drastically more difficult as it gets lost in a long list of companies and clinics.

The only solution we have received to this is to only load in Logos, however, this would cause us to lose the Company Hierarchy section of the C360 and replace it with a report. We chose to keep the C360 section to keep our CSM’s in Gainsight as much as possible and hold out hope a product enhancement can be made sometime in the future.

We are using Gainsight NXT integrated with Salesforce.

Depending if you are on NXT or SFDC another possible workaround could be to add ” - Logo” at the end of each logo level account.

Then in the search bar you can start typing in “beginning_of_company_name*logo”. I.E. “Gain*logo” would return “Gainsight - logo”

In NXT the * acts as a wild card in the search bar.

Mind you, if you are connected to SFDC this might take a little work to get working correctly as the Account Name form SFDC won’t be able to be used anymore. This shouldn’t affect any other functionality besides having a different Account Name in GS vs SFDC.

Thank you for sharing your feedback here @B.Abrahams. We are planning to add filtering capabilities under search configuration of Company and Relationship to filter out such unwanted entries from the search results.
Will share more details here once we start working on this.

I would love to be able to set a ‘sticky’ search bar filter for only active customers

A quick update on this, We are currently working on the requirements for revamping the overall search experience in Gainsight this quarter. One of the requirements being the ability to filter search results configuration for the Admins. I will keep this thread posted on any updates/timelines
