Please allow more than 20 rules in a rule chain, and fix this confusing messaging in the UI that appears like I can have up to 97 rules in a rule chain, but then I get an error when I attempt more than 20.

+1, this seems like a pretty arbitrary place to draw the line and at minimum the number should be bumped up (50?). I’m not sure how this is handled on the backend, but since rule chains don’t create any NEW rules and the constituent rules would theoretically be scheduled individually anyway, there doesn’t seem to be any harm in allowing longer chains.

I think that 97 number is your number of active rules (our number matched our number of active rules, not that it’s helpful)

Hi @sarahmiracle.

First, I am happy that you are using Rule Chains :)

There is a limit of 20 rules per rule chain today. I would suggest you use multiple rule chains to schedule your rules (eg. CTAs Part 1, CTAs Part 2, Scorecard, Load from S3, ...). Then ensure your rule chains are scheduled to run at the appropriate times.

Something to consider …

By default, you can’t have a rule that takes longer than 3 hours to run, or it will be aborted. With a rule chain, all rules in the rule chain must complete within 3 hours as well, or remaining rules will be aborted.
