Adapt Gainsight Survey Hosting function to host Event Signup forms or allow for an "inline Hosted form" section in the new template builder

Current Situation: Event related JO programs are a very convoluted, manual process that involves creating an event signup page in Marketo, linking that to Zoom, and then manually pulling attendee info from zoom, exporting it to a CSV, and I have to “spruce up” the CSV data to include Full Name, and perform other data corrections. There is no way to track attendees in Gainsight, and currently, Zoom and JO don’t really talk. (but I know that is something that both Product and CS-Ops are working on)

(note) I am aware of the planned Events functionality that Product is working on; @manu_mittal showed it to me a few weeks ago and I think it is a big step in the right direction. We discussed my use case then as well.

My idea: Gainsight has the ability to host customer survey domains, but that is the only function (that I am aware of) where this functionality is leveraged. I think it could do more - we should be able to host event sign-up pages (for use with JO programs). I don’t think this would be a heavy lift, but there would need to be direct integration with JO in order to accomplish what I envision.

If the “Events” functionality could allow for the creation of a hosted event sign-up page (essentially a hosted form : Banner, main content container, side bar containing sign-up form, OR an additional plugin for the new template builder - a “Form” container), and this functionality was linked to a JO program that would be a game changer.

Some potential benefits:

  • A program based, hosted event form might be able to better track event sign-up’s by sign-up channel. A program based events send would be able to leverage link tracking, and potentially do checks on the program audience info to track event signup’s sourced from that program
  • This could simplify the process of creating post-event sends for confirmed attendees (CS Ops sends the event recording to attendees in a standalone program currently. Event sends require 2 programs now, if attendance tracking for JO based event sends was more of a “closed loop” that would allow us to use a single program per event to provide sign-up/attendance analytics within a single journey.
  • This could potentially allow Gainsight to use Marketo less and rely solely on our own product. A coordinated, JO based workflow for events would allow lots of analytic opportunities. We would have comprehensive process to track events from start to end and each step of the process would use a related schema. We wouldn’t have to deal with differing levels of data granularity like we do now with the manual zoom export process.
  • We would be able to leverage Zoom API integration, and ideally have field mapping already in place so that confirmed event sign-up/attendance triggers from zoom would easily propagate into JO reporting and existing JO workflows.
  • JO would have another specialized process that could be a product differentiator… Sure Marketo does this.. but JO is more comprehensive and easier to use.

Here’s a recap of my thoughts.

Thanks!
