Have a toggle on each event page module to show only when someone has clicked “Attend.”

Example: For the “Add to Calendar” function, I only want this to be shown to people who have actually RSVP’d to an event.

Hi @alex.maks, thanks for sharing! Could you elaborate a bit about which event modules you’s like to show only when someone has clicked “Attend”?  And why?

Hi @xiaoyu-shen - thanks for asking!

I shared one example above for the “Add to calendar” widget, but I think this could be expanded to an attendee-only text section.

I’m mostly thinking of this for hiding the “link” where I’m housing the access link to virtual events. Really, I only want people who have clicked on the “Attend” button to be able to see information that would give them access to the live event. This way anyone who joins live is on our list of attendees.

This would be especially helpful since there are no native event notifications, options to message registrants through insided, or confirmation messages (to inbox - I know there’s the pop-up confirmation message, but that disappears and doesn’t house that info on the page for registrants).

@xiaoyu-shen @omika.mali

Hi there. It’s been some time since I submitted this, but not having this feature is turning out to be a major pain point for both our team and our community members. Community members are even creating posts on our platform about their experience with this.

When we set up events (which we host on Google Meet), we include a link to download the calendar invitation in the confirmation message. For security reasons, we cannot to post these calendar links on the event pages themselves. When we’ve shared that link on the page without any sort of gating, this has made us susceptible to spammers showing up to our Meet calls.

The only way we have of gating that is with that confirmation message pop-up, but that’s only available in that quick instance where someone clicks “Sign Up” which leads to members needing to do this to get that link again:

Edit RSVP -> check Not Attending -> click Update -> Sign up again etc

The current Link URL in the event setup doesn’t allow gating.

We need something on those pages that is available only to registrants, but once registered is always available to them.

I want to second @alex.maks  petition and explain my use case.

Insided has an events section where you can add events to register.

  • The information you present is publicly viewable for anyone on the internet.
  • There is no difference between what an anonymous user, a registered member, or a registered member attending the event sees. All of the three users see the same thing.

Desired user experience

  • To have some fields in the event page and to be able to select if that field is visible for:
    • Everyone
    • Platform registered user and option to select which roles
    • Only users that are registered to attend the event
  • These fields will appear in the event page sidebar

These changes will allow the community managers to publish sensitive information only relevant to specific users.
