Thanks @dandre for identifying this break in the feedback loop and like @Gabolino I am a massive proponent of the in-situ online engagement,

But

It is important as an option, and in the absence of a mobile app or a Notifications center we need every prop to make it easy for users to continue the conversation.

It’s a question of mobility… If I have started a thread I have everything on my mind and if I’m on my move, without an app, email is my only option to carry on discussions…

Today, we’ve come to expect even continuing the convo via Slack DMs for the connected apps… emails being the most basic usecase of closing the notification loop.

Thanks @anirbandutta! For the reasons @Gabolino mentioned in his reply, specifically the fact that allowing people to reply over email, keeps people siloed in their own thread while missing out on other engaging community content. As we’re ramping up to build our Notification Center, the possibility to reply over email will hopefully become redundant by then as the notification center should then become the primary launchpad, not the email notifications. Therefore I’m closing this idea as parked for now.
