We need to be able to associate activities and tasks from accounts in Salesforce that are Relationship records in Gainsight.   Since we have been using Salesforce for years, there is a lot of activity history that is not flowing into Gainsight, because we can only push Salesforce activities associated with Company records.  The lack of activity records is negatively affecting our Engagement scorecards and the overall view of our clients.

@soumitrasahu we are releasing an update in the near future that allows us to tag activities to objects other than Companies and Relationships (and also to multiple Companies and Relationships).

This is a similar request when syncing activities from Salesforce to Gainsight. Currently, all activities that are synced from SFDC to GS go to the Company level, with no way for us to configure the sync to Relationships (or any other object).

Can we please have a way to sync activities to Relationships (at a minimum) in the near future? I think this is usually an ask for any customer that works at the Relationship level in Gainsight. Thanks!

@soumitrasahu @rajdeep_barman can we comment on this from a product standpoint? Thank you!

Team - are there any updates here?

We definitely need the ability to sync to Relationship because our relationships are also accounts. They also have parent accounts above them that have the majority of activities on them but are not an entity in GS. So we need the ability to sync two different account activity histories into one single relationship record.

It has been four years, and I believe it is worth following up on this request. Could we get some attention from the product team on this issue?

Our team extensively uses Relationships, and all our Customer Success Managers (CSMs) operate at the R360 level. However, activities logged by Sales and other teams in Salesforce (SFDC) only sync to Gainsight at the C360 level. Without the ability to configure associate records (relationships) in the out-of-the-box (OOB) Salesforce Activity Jobs, CSMs are missing key engagements that other teams had with clients. We've even encountered scenarios where CSMs attend calls alongside Sales/Account Managers (AMs). Meetings logged by AMs or Sales Reps sync and are visible only at the C360 level, forcing CSMs working at the Relationship level to create a duplicate entry in Gainsight at the R360 level. This duplication ends up syncing back to SFDC, resulting in redundant records in both systems for a single meeting.

We tried exploring the UPDATE API of Timeline to link Relationships (either via Associate Records or by re-parenting) but seems like we can’t.

@Sashank Goparaju Thanks for resurfacing this. This feature is not included in our H2 roadmap. Our focus is on Auto Email Capture, which will automatically bring emails from a user’s mailbox into the Timeline. This will include user controls and additional features to enhance the user experience.
Along with that, we are working on support for relationship resolution for meetings logged with AI Follow-Up and for automatically captured emails. We will bring this up for priortization in our next years roadmap.
