We have several types of record merge capabilities in Gainsight CS. Right now merging (or even deleting for that matter) Users is not one of them.

Being able to manage your user records is a pretty fundamental aspect of a software tool and it is surprisingly lacking, and if you ever encounter duplicate records it causes a huge headache.

Yes! We have a situation where we have had a semi-recent domain change for our organization. This has resulted in duplicates of our users being created for the new domain. As of right now, all we can do is deactivate the original user from the first domain and get creative with the names of these people so the inactive users can be easily identified from a simple lookup search. As an example, a lookup search result now presents two values:
 

  • John Doe <-------New Domain
  • INACTIVE - John Doe <--------Old Domain, name altering
