The issue: Currently it is not possible to analyze which user marked a "best answer" (solution). So we can't see in Analytics if the author of a question marked it, showing he/she is satisfied with an answer, or if a power user or moderator marked his/her own answer as "best answer", thinking it was the correct answer. This makes quality control harder.
Solution: We would like to have the user name as a data field in the exports available. This way we can better check if solutions have been marked for the right reasons.
Also a data field for who marked a solution could be used for future gamification purposes. This way it is possible to have an incentive for authors of questions to mark a solution or to have an incentive for users with the permissions to mark solutions.
I know this one is a little on the older side, but I think still relevant!
I think it’s here, isn’t it? In the export that is.
Is this still being worked on? This would be extremely helpful from a coaching perspective. We had a few new moderators start working on the community and noticed how some responses shouldn’t have been marked as a Best Response. We just have no idea who actually marked it
Have you checked the export,
- the two first post creators, (post_1_creator & post_2_creator)
- the user who’s post was actually marked as the best answer (post_answered_user)
- the time difference between 1st post and best answer (post_1_post_answered_timeDifference)
- at what time the post was marked as the best answer (post_answered_markedTime)
I can’t seem to find a column for who actually marked a post as the best answer. I would assume it would be labeled something like this: (post_answered_marked_user)
Is there a different export I should be looking at?
Hopefully, Insided will eventually set up a history log.
- Salesforce integration - this is one of the user activity that writes to their community records in salesforce, so you can build a report to view who marks answers, when, how often, etc
- Webhook + Zapier or another tool - the webhook event for marking an answer contains info on who marked it, so you could do any number of things with that action trigger with Zapier or another toold
- My example: we gamify marking answers by using the webhook trigger and the zapier action to assign points.
- Another use case: you could write that data to a google sheet each time for you to analyze if you’re just looking for a report.
But those things won’t let you show who marked the answer for others on the front end.
And hopefully this is something that can be delivered in the future as a big improvement to data and analytics.
Thanks
But, in short, it’s a game changer if you use salesforce. It just provides so many more metrics you can easily build reports and dashboards on within Salesforce, giving you a much better way to measure and monitor.
They’re working on a data lake feature for making the same data available to everyone, but that’s still a few months away. And even then, using the salesforce integration is helpful for building reports that involve other contact data to allow for views by company, customer type, etc.
