Data Designer - Formula field data type

Talking with a few customers we have found the need to add a type of Percentage to a Formula field in Data Designer.

When trying to build out there are a number of times when they would like to use this internally but are limited to number, boolean, or string.

Hi.

Yes, right now we don’t have a Percentage data type but we can calculate the percentage with the help of Formula fields.

we have a workaround to calculate the percentage in DD using Formula fields.

In your data set, select the “Add Formula Field” button.

Now the formula window will appear. Select the DataType as Number and the Expression Type as Numeric Expression and provide the decimal places how many we want to show in the output.

In the formula text box create your formula as per your requirement and save it. And just do Preview the task.

Thanks.

@cameron_wright does this workaround worked for you?

Commenting here to bring this back up.  It would nice to have this available as an option as it is in Report Builder instead of having to do this workaround.

Similar post -- would be great to be able to have all the data types that are still available in the “old” advanced JO queries for custom field mapping in data designer so we can continue to build without workarounds.

Suppose I should have named it “Data Designer needs...” 🤣
