TL;DR: The “recently active” feed part of the Tabs widget, but filterable by a specific category OR public tag.
Current state: The only widget we have that displays as a post feeds in the Tabs widget with the “Recently active” and “Unanswered questions” feeds.
- Additionally, each of the Ideations and Product Updates pages have a “List” widget feed of those types of topics, but neither is available in the widget library or outside those modules.
Desired future state:
- Filterable widget - by category, multiple categories, or public tags (or moderator tag - nice to have)
- Displays topics as a feed similar to this:
Use Cases:
- Custom pages currently in beta program
- Topic-based overview/resource pages (likely a custom page, but maybe also on home page, or overview pages)
- Persona-based pages
An alternative option would be a complete revamp of the category pages to make them customizable with widgets, rather than just the featured content lists anchored to the top. But I think this widget is going to be critical to the success of customizable pages outside of just child categories. There are many use cases for showing a segmented feed of content along side the other resources highlighted as quicklinks, featured content, etc.
