In advance of the mandatory release this weekend, we turned on the 360 Sidebar. I generally like the concept but much of the execution of it has left me scratching my head.

I am not wanting for space in the Gainsight tab, but when I am in the 360 sidebar and open the Calls to Action tab, it defaults to this:

Why on earth is most of the real estate given to the Company>Relationship column, followed by the Status column? I know what Company I’m on, I just clicked on the name! That’s the entire point of this thing.

I guess you could have really long statuses, but it is pretty embarrassing that CTA name has such a small footprint. Even less if you’ve starred a CTA. How is this useful for anyone? I’ve even changed the column sizes and it just resets the next time I open the 360.

Could admin-configured column widths be something that’s added in a future update?

Changing a column size every so often because of a long template name (or other asset)? That’s expected. Changing a column size every time we open the tab because the CTA name is more than 5 characters? That’s not expected.

I don’t think the onus of this needs to be on the admin. This design really just indicates no one real world tested this and I would rather address that problem and have the default widths make reasonable sense based on what data is typically in there.

Short of that, just having adjusted widths stick would make sense - if a user wants to change it, just preserve that state until they change it again.
