Excel downloads of reports do NOT handle field types properly.

  1. Gainsight Date fields are exported as Text
  2. Integers are also exported as Test (for example: “Count of”)
  3. Avg. NPS somehow is exported as a Number

My first question is obviously: WHY?

My second question is that this be fixed and the Excel conversion mechanisms better handles the source data type to format it into a similar Excel format instead of converting everything as strings

We need these files to be formatted correctly in Excel exports, as it takes a significant amount of time cleaning them up.

@rakesh

This is a real pain with Date / DateTime fields, since Excel refuses to convert the strings exported to formats you can sort reliably or use in a proper formula. Google Sheets might do it better.

Hello All,

I have added this item to our  backlog.

@Prateek Parashar thanks for the update - an additional issue with exports to Excel are fields such as Company/Relationship stage exporting the GSID rather than the label value; I understand there is a workaround for this by duplicating the field, but it would be nice to have this resolved on the initial field versus having to add an additional field to the dataset.

Hello All,

An update on this community post - In the Feb 10th release, we are fixing the export issue with NUMBER data type ( Number, Currency, Percentage) .We will fix issues with other data types like Date , Date time in upcoming quarters

Thanks

Prateek

hi @Prateek Parashar  - this does not appear to be fixed. Do you have any updates on when you’d expect the fix to be available in Prod?
