We have specifically had the Activity Type selector disabled in Gainsight Assist because it leads to mistakes/errant data, not only because custom/required fields are not available, but also because there is no restricting of what types can be selected.
For example:
We have a “Business Review” Activity Type. This is used to track the actual occurrence and delivery of the Business Review, not activities related to the Business Review.
The brief time last year when we had the selector active, people were selecting “Busienss Review” in Gainsight Assist, just for exchanged related to the BR (i.e. sharing the agenda, post-meeting notes, etc). This resulted in bloated numbers related to Business Review tracking and confusion at the leadership level as BRs is a KPI number for CSMs.
We NEED to have the ability to curate which types they can select from Gainsight Assist. Without that, data integrity is compromised.
@Ritika Jindal @manu_mittal please make this a priority.
With regard to the Activity Type selector in Gainsight Assist, there may be Activity Types that are reserved for very specific processes that we do not want users to select through GA. This can also exacerbate dirty/inaccurate data issues.
Please provide admin ability to control which Activity Types are selectable from Gainsight Assist similar to how we can control which Email Templates are available to Gainsight Assist.
This is absolutely needed.
If we have backend processes already in place (to simplify CSx’s tasks) we do not need to complicate their tasks and create dirty data by allowing for an incorrect activity type to be selected.
Another example would be using picklists or boolean options instead of free-form text entry to remove the possibility for dirty data.
Please give us this easy way to prevent human error!
It would be great if this could include not only restriction, but also expansion. For us, having the ability to associate a Timeline activity directly with a CTA through GS Assist would be a game changer.
