Yea, good point @heather_hansen . @revathimenon can we get some eyes on this from the product team? It’s a little embarrassing there was just an update to Home and it seemed to address none of the functional asks we’ve been after for years - basically since this feature launched.

+1 for feature implementation. Data designer is a powerful tool and it’s currently being a bit hamstrung by the inability to make reports front-page visible.

I think I voted for this years ago, but this now falls in line with one of my other enhancement requests - allowing Data Designer objects to be protected by Data Permissions. This would include permission inheritance. And the only way to do this is to allow for lookups to be created on the DD table.

Back to this Idea to see if it has gone anywhere… and it seems not.

Please, please, Gainsight. Can you review and implement it? 😭

Still a problem for me as well.

Another use case:
We use Account Teams in SFDC, but for simplicity, we still have CSMs as a look up on Company in Gainsight. We recently wanted to add a report to the CSM Home page to display the open urgent cases rolled for their accounts so that they could quickly review upon starting their day.  Since we don’t pull Cases into Gainsight, we needed to use a Data Designer to build this report, and that means it’s now virtually useless on GS Home where our CSMs land immediately when logging in.

Hi @rakesh It seems this issue is resolved as long as admins use the new Data Designer lookup functionality to look up to the Company object. Is this correct? And is this intended as the solution for this problem, or is there more development to come? Just curious before I go and add a Company lookup to a bunch of DDs and communicate this to our users.

Hi @spencer_engel

Yes, that is correct. What is stopping us from delivering this feature is the fact that data designer objects do not have a lookup to company. So, we cannot filter on all the attributes of the company that are on Gainsight home filters. With this feature, we can finally overcome that limitation.

On details:
New DD → Always supported.
If you see the "Configure lookups" option in DD, it will work.
However, we have very few data designs today where this option will be disabled. We're working on turning this on for all designs in a few days.
