Gainsight Home Page - Reports created from Data Designers are of no use when applying filters

The fact that this feature didn’t come out of the release with data designer is beyond me

Adding my vote here. I’ve just finished updating an elaborate data designer report to compar e NPS data by quarter only to find that I can now not use in Gainsight Home. I was planning to launch this CSM-requested report to the team this week and now will have to spend additional time loading the data to an object in order to utilize it - which is an incredible misuse of time. It’s particularly frustrating when I can see that the Data Desiger report recognizes my Company GSID field as an actual GS ID field. I echo ​@heather_hansen ‘s sentiment that since this is tied to the landing page, it would make sense to add any type of report to it.

Hi ​@rakesh I read above that this is a heavy-lift, but how has this been progressed? 

Currently, instead of loading data to their own objects for things like tracking OKRs, we’re implementing filters in the reports themselves to filter on “current user”. I can’t fathom creating a new object for minimally transformed data sets for things like OKRs… 

​@revathimenon there’s also this post that keeps getting votes and that perhaps could be merge with the thread we’re on? It’s so very highly requested, hope to see DD being supported soon.

I’m also curious on the heavy-lift comment cause when I add a GSID to a DD and use that report in a Dashboard it works fine, e.g. 

 

Yea, good point ​@heather_hansen . ​@revathimenon can we get some eyes on this from the product team? It’s a little embarrassing there was just an update to Home and it seemed to address none of the functional asks we’ve been after for years - basically since this feature launched.

+1 for feature implementation. Data designer is a powerful tool and it’s currently being a bit hamstrung by the inability to make reports front-page visible.

I think I voted for this years ago, but this now falls in line with one of my other enhancement requests - allowing Data Designer objects to be protected by Data Permissions. This would include permission inheritance. And the only way to do this is to allow for lookups to be created on the DD table.

Back to this Idea to see if it has gone anywhere… and it seems not.

Please, please, Gainsight. Can you review and implement it? 😭

Still a problem for me as well. 

Another use case:
We use Account Teams in SFDC, but for simplicity, we still have CSMs as a look up on Company in Gainsight. We recently wanted to add a report to the CSM Home page to display the open urgent cases rolled for their accounts so that they could quickly review upon starting their day.  Since we don’t pull Cases into Gainsight, we needed to use a Data Designer to build this report, and that means it’s now virtually useless on GS Home where our CSMs land immediately when logging in.
