Ideas not marked as read

I’ll guess that this is feature but I’ll open this topic anyways as I feel that this is a UX issue.

Some of our super users and active community members use the community as follows:

They go and scroll either the Recently active discussions or Active since last visit and read through the interesting ones. After this they want to mark all as read. → They’ll go to community front page, select the Categories tab and click Mark Discussion areas as read.

And here lies the challenge. All “regular” topics are marked as read but Ideas remain unread.

I assume that this is a feature as Ideas are no longer part of categories, but could this be fixed? I feel that for active users this is an understandable case.
