We track the types of questions that are being asked by the tags of the question. In our previous Q&A forum we were able to make tagging required for each new question and would like to do that here.

Hey @cbeac2432 thanks for sharing this idea with us :)

I think the use case you mentioned is clear - let end users tag their questions and help categorising different types of questions. Could you help me understand better how you used to use it:

  • What’s the workflow look like? What happen next after a new question is posted?
  • Do you allow users to create new tags?
  • Do you have some examples of the tags you use for questions?

At inSided we’d like to make the posting experience as easy and smooth as possible, e.g. we make tag recommendations based on the title and description. Adding a mandatory field could add a bit effort to post a question, would it be a concern for you?

The idea was just to make tagging a required field like you have for categories. Stack Overflow requires this and they haven’t seen it hold folks back posting questions.
