Notifications for Followed User Activity

The community already lets users follow other members, but right now that feature seems limited. Based what I could find, following someone only bookmarks their profile so you can manually check their activity, and it controls whether that person can send you a private message. It does not trigger any notification when they create a new post, nor does it surface their content in any kind of feed.

We'd like to see the follow feature expanded so that when a followed user publishes a new topic or post, the follower receives a notification through email and/or the in-app notification center. This would be especially valuable in communities where certain contributors, like superusers, product managers, or company employees, consistently share high-quality content such as feature releases, deprecation notices, or expert advice.

Right now, the only way to keep up with a specific person's output is to visit their profile and scroll through their activity, which most users won't do regularly. Tying notifications to the existing follow functionality would give the feature a purpose that matches what users already expect it to do.

+1 for this idea. Our community also would like to see this feature to be expanded.

Also valuable for users who posts suspicious things and we want to react immediately after a post.
