@Veronica.Moore commented on this newly re-shared post that was originally (11 months ago) a comment thread during the Dynamic JO beta to let us clone Dynamic JO steps

Another idea I’d suggested in that same thread (now hidden because it was in the beta) was to let us create a saved evaluate step library. (see the screenshot at the bottom)

This would:

  • let us easily add evaluate steps that use the same filter logic across ALL of our programs
  • reduce chances for human error
  • save valuable time

This ask is also similar to this request to let us have saved custom content blocks in the email template builder to make that process easier.

This could also be considered similar to how Data Design templates can be leveraged as a building block in Dynamic JO queries. Most of our multi-step triggered programs have a handful of calculated fields that are the same for every program, and rebuilding those for every program and every evaluate step significantly increases both the margin of error and the time required to create a program.

The ask in short:

Let us create a library of program steps to pull from when we create programs! 😃

Hi @vmallya, similar request to the other thread I just commented on (allowing reordering automatic branches in dynamic JO), this one on the evaluate steps.

Idea:

How feasible would it be to allow us to (either one or both):

  1. Clone evaluate steps in dynamic JO
  2. Create a library of standard/template evaluate steps in dynamic JO

See the example below – in my current use case, I have a four email JO with 7 day wait steps between each email. In between each email, we want to make sure (using calculated fields, which burns through the limit of 10 calculated fields available) that:

  • The participant hasn’t opted out of emails
  • The company and participant are still active
  • Confirm which email communication type the participant has

In order to do that, I have to rebuild the evaluate step three times, which means I have to screenshot the fields, and have that pulled up while editing – or clone the program for a “sample” program so I can look at the evaluate setup live. Thankfully this

We can clone programs and email templates – why not the steps inside them?
