User options to control what opens in a new tab

We just rolled out Gainsight last week and the top question I’m getting is “how do I stop things from opening in a new tab?”

 

I know there’s mixed opinions from the community on whether people want a new tab or not - I would love to see individual users have this level of control since there is no standard opinion.

      Our CSMs work both ways so having the option of allowing the end users to choose to open in same or new tab will be helpful

        I am  using below URL to open new window in report or C360 layout but it does not work.

          Wow… a little baffled to see this was just discarded :/

          The most expensive part of building is the mistakes. That's true in construction. Not so much in CSOps. So ask questions, make mistakes and learn. All views expressed here are my own.

            Good news!! this is currently being worked on. I believe the user setting to keep a single tab will be in our October release.

              Is it being tested with Standalone NXT, Hybrid NXT using SFDC Classic and Lightning? Will this change the URLs at all and potentially impact existing bookmarks or links admins may have created with case statements?

              Hi @bradley ill double check but my expectation will be standard nxt. I don't anticipate any of the urls changing just mainly the click action will change the current window rather than open a new tab

              Gotcha - I ask mostly because we use case fields to generate URLs to feature areas of Gainsight (e.g., linking to the R360 from Account scorecard comments) and wouldn’t want those to break - but I’ve also noticed the format requirements of the URLs needed changing when the 360 moved to Horizon. You had to add a parameter to force the link to open in a new tab or it wouldn’t work. Just want to make sure that type of scenario is in mind when testing.
