Would be great if we had Dynamic Content functionality for emails

Has Gainsight considered the use-case for dynamic content over variants? There are some instances where it would be great to be able to have blocks of content that change within an email, where everything else stays the same. Dynamic content blocks could be referenced multiple times across many email templates.

For example - the footer is localized for regional addresses. The same block would be used across all emails, and only need to be built with filters that are defined once. Instead, I have to create many duplicates of a variant, add the filters to each variant, even if all of the other content remains the same, it’s very inefficient. Given the restraint on the number of variants currently supported, I’ll run out quickly when I have both content and footer changes to account for regions and languages.

Thank you @ssamarth! I’ll definitely keep my eyes on the release notes and roadmap information, this is something we’re looking forward to using in our programs. 😀

Hi @ssamarth, curious if you have any updates on where dynamic content might live on the roadmap? While building out a template, was struck by an idea (just below), and turns out it was posted 2 years ago -- there should be an easy way to control whether individual content blocks are visible or hidden in an email template. We frequently want to test different tokenization layouts or reports prior to sending them, and when we have a multi-version email (each with approximately 20-30 different mappings and a few reports) it can be incredibly frustrating to have to rebuild and remap each time.

Relatedly, we should be able to easily adjust visibility and display settings for both desktop AND mobile viewing on a PER BLOCK basis. Just making a container responsive is not enough -- if we designed our email to have two (or more) blocks side-by-side… that’s what we want it to look like. We shouldn’t have to resort to external email editors to create templates that look the same across desktop and mobile.

And while I’m at it -- is there any update on this other related idea (saved custom content blocks)? It’d make life so much easier if when we designed an email footer (especially one with multiple buttons and complex stylying), we were able to save it just like we can save survey questions to a library.

@ssamarth This company, Dyspatch’s, product is a great example of the type of feature that @kelly is asking for. My company looked into using this as a third-party tool to craft our email templates, but Gainsight wasn’t able to integrate properly due to the incompatibility of the language used in the html make-up in the templates.

FYI @dayn.johnson

Good to know, thank you @bytor104! Stripo is very HTML-based, so I’m hopeful their builder will work for our purposes!

Can Gainsight please consider this for a future release of Journey Orchestrator? This would remove a huge blocker that is holding us back from creating very curated digital journeys for our customers based on which products they purchase. If we were to build this today, we would need 80+ versions of the email template.

We have 8 core products AND additional product licenses, and our team is being asked to build out product-specific onboarding workflows. @ssamarth – do you have any insights on what timeframe in the medium term roadmap dynamic content blocks might feasible in email templates? Versions and multiple branches aren’t the answer here sadly.

Hi All,
The ability to include dynamic content in email templates where content appears based on conditions set by the admin, is currently under evaluation.

Dynamic content in email templates... [(criteria set by admins)] is currently under evaluation.

Fantastic! This would be a huge step forward for our emails (JOs, Group Send, etc.) 🔥
