Determine platform visibility
Our platform visibility settings enable you to change who is able to view your community. We offer three visibility settings: Public, Private, and Offline. Learn what each visibility setting is typically used for, and details about the implications of each setting:
Add Terms & Conditions
It''s important to have a set of Terms and Conditions that a user agrees to when registering on the community. These terms should include legal elements, community guidelines, code of conduct, and your cookie policy. Learn how to change your Terms & Conditions:
Configure profile fields
Profile fields help you your members. Add these fields to gather and store additional information about your community members, like their job title, where they are located or which industry they work in.
Configure custom user roles
Roles allow you to categorise different types of community members and define their permissions. Primary roles are baked into Control (admin, moderator, etc) and can’t be changed. But you can create ''custom roles'' for various use cases, for example to provide a group of members with access to a private areas on your platform.
Configure public tags
Public Tags enable you to group topics together in order to organise content in a way that’s transparent to all members of your community. Public tags can be seen by any member of your community, you can choose whether end users are allowed to add tags.
Configure moderation labels
Communicate the status of a topic to your moderation team with Moderation Labels. For example, Use an ''Open'' label to let others know that this topic still needs their attention. You can customise these labels to suit your moderation team’s unique needs.
Configure robots.txt
The Robots.txt file will specifically tell search engines how to crawl and index the content of your platform. Use this to hide specific areas of your platform from search engines, or tell them you have a sitemap available.
Modify phrases
Phrases allow you to overwrite any of the default language used in your CC community. Want to change the call-to-action on a button or make your error pages more user friendly then you will need to modify the phrases. Learn which phrases there are and how to modify them in our Phrases knowledge base.
Enable spam filter
Starting to receive spammy posts that you don’t like? You can enable Spam Prevention on your community. This service will review every incoming post from registered users. If the service suspects the post contains spam it will be sent to the spam folder in Control and won’t be published on the community.
