Hi Scott! I’m trying to create a completion report for a survey. I have a report of sent surveys using the Email Logs v2 object and a flattened responses report. I think I can use data designer for this but not sure exactly how. Thanks!

Hi Scott! We’re looking to utilize Simple Programs for a renewal notice program specifically for the Group Emailing functionality. However, we need to utilize a email field from a Union of our Account (Bill-To Email) and Contact (Key Persona) Salesforce objects and not the Company Person object. Unfortunately, we’re finding that the program does not recognize this unique email field, even if we try to merge Company and Person GSID.

Any ideas or recommendations on how to accomplish this?

Hi Scott, in a previous session you asked me to defer this question until later. Is now a good time?

A colleague and I have many questions regarding people / contact merge

  • How does it work?
  • Why is our instance showing 0 duplicates when we can see the duplicates?
  • What are the gotcha’s to watch out for?
  • Any differences in approach when only merging contacts vs. when merging contacts as result of a Company merge?

Me again! Super easy question / scenario.  Creating a rule that updates cases in SFDC and want to understand if there is a better way to update records other than using the ‘last modified date’ field.

Hi Scott! I have a question for today’s session but I won’t be able to join your session until 1:30pm CST. In Data Design or Rules Engine, I’m trying to find the 1st successful training project for customers that are in onboarding but what I’m struggling with is if I group by Account Id and then select the MIN option for all of the other fields such as Project End Date, Project Name, and Record Id, GS doesn’t “link” all of the fields together. Is there a way for me to do this?

external API headers question

Hi Scott, new questions.

  1. Are sharing groups queryable in reports, rules engine, data designer? If so could you point me to the correct object name. In my rule I need to have filter logic like “a specific email address in my data source belongs to a user in XYZ sharing group”.
  2. In a rule, how can I convert a date to a string? I need to concatenate a date field with other string, but Concat seems to only allow concatenation of strings so I have to convert my date to a string first. But when I create a transform to call “To String(...)”, none of my date fields show up as options for type conversion.

JO/Programs - Built a Query, Communications by Contact Type, to capture Participants

#3 Mapping Participant Sources required fields, but values are not options:

  • External Contact ID
  • External Account ID 

How do I get the External ID Contact and Account within the Mapping Participant Sources?

JO/Programs - I built a query, previewed the participants. The same participants appear as both “TEST” and “real” (not the actual term, I can’t recall what it was) participants. What are the “TEST” participants? Only the expected # of emails went out, whereas I had feared duplicate emails would be sent.

I can’t recreate this issue on demand so I’m just recalling the details from memory.
