Hi @sdrostgainsightcom ,

Our support organization is interested in indexing our Gainsight Timeline attachments. Can this be done? Can we restrict, from the Gainsight end, what can be indexed vs. not indexed? We may as well also ask, can non-attachment content be indexed.. such as success plans, for example?

Here is an initial description of what they are proposing.

“We have developed a program that traverses the document storage in order to obtain its location (URL). We call this indexing as we then save this document location with additional document metadata in a SQL Server database.”

“The indexing database is a component of a Customer Document Repository that we have developed. Veritas users can search for documents via a Gateway App.  Our indexing database will have documents from various departments and different storage locations made available through a single search engine.”

“Although the Customer Document Repository is open to all Veritas employees (internal tool), we do have user access controls to restrict access based on business requirements.”

Hi Scott. I’m exploring the possibility of using the Real-Time Sync for our Company connector. It seems that I’m stuck with having that connector be an upsert job and I have no way to only have it update. Is this accurate? I have a couple other questions too that I’ll bring up on the call.

Hi @sdrostgainsightcom ,

Following up on my colleague’s (Craig) question from last week regarding the AI Cheat Sheet. We are looking for confirmation that:

  1. Cheat Sheet only looks at Timeline (T) entries where t. Activity Date] (or is it T. Created Date] ?) >= Company.nCreated Date] ?
  2. Is there a way to force Company.aCreated Date] to a specific value to get around item # 1?

Hi Scott,
I am looking for possibilities of returning ‘NULL Values as ZERO’ when calculating the # of Success Plans or # of Timeline Activities for accounts.

I tried using the feature 'Treat NULL Values as Zero' but it does not help. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Hey Scott I am attempting to exclude System Generated activities from a DateTIme field called Last Time Line Activity.

Hello @justo.casablanca and @Craigo -- according to Product team (got the answer over the weekend), the Cheat Sheet ignores the Company Created Date and the Timeline Created Date and only looks at Activity Date.

However, they did note that Cheatsheet only works for Active customers, so if the Status hasn’t been set, or if you have left it Null or Inactive for these copied-over Company records, that could very well be the issue.  Try setting to Active and running Cheatsheet.

If that doesn’t work (we’ll give it a shot during the session today), I’ll have to open a ticket with me CC’d and I’ll loop in the AI team right away.  Thanks!

Hi Scott,

I created a data set using Data Designer for PX usage data. I’m using the data set in Report Builder and trying to get the average but I’m having some trouble. I’m not seeing the average as an option in the “Show Me” settings for the COUNT of Company ID. It’s probably something simple that I’m not seeing and would really appreciate your help if you have time on the call today.

Thank you!

Kellie

Hi Scott!

I’m back with another question about using an External Action to insert more nuanced timeline entries.

According to the documentation for External Actions (Relationship Context), Gainsight requires a unique `External_ID` for each call to the External Action.

The `External_ID` is defined on that page as: “A String value that contains the Record id received from the client. It is unique for an activity. In case duplicate Ids are received, the records are rejected.”

What should I be using as an External ID? I often have more than one entry to put through per `CompanyGSID` and/or `RelationshipGSID`. Since these have to be unique, I can’t generate them from the rule without risk of duplication.

Any ideas welcome.

Hi @alyssa.harding -- where are these nualnced timeline entries coming from? what data are you pulling from to create a new Timeline Entry?  Usually there’s something in that source dataset that can be leveraged as a unique ID -- let me know via reply here and if I can come up with something off the top of my head, I’ll let you know -- if not, hopefully you can join the Thursday office hours session (have to cancel tomorrow’s usual session unfortunately, due to travel) and we can take a closer look.

Best,

Scott

Hey Scott!

That totally worked! I used the GSID from my initial [custom] object because my rule was logging a change (if any) from yesterday to today and there could be only one! (cheap Highlander reference for extra 🤓).

Thanks Scott!

Alyssa.
