Hi Scott,

I could use some help with the period over period formula. I just get nothing.

Thanks!

Laura

Hi Scott,

In this conversation, NSAA = “Non-Super Admin Admin”, i.e. the user has DEFAULT_BUNDLE assigned, but “Super Admin” = false on their user profile.

  1. Can I restrict which Users an NSAA can “see” and “manage” in the user admin, data permissions (sharing groups), etc.? Are there any “gotcha’s”?
  2. If I restrict an NSAA to only “see” specific accounts, will CTAs, success plans, relationship records inherit those same restrictions?

Following questions are regarding regular users who have no admin privileges, i.e. CSMs, etc

  1. A colleague and I have many questions regarding people / contact merge
  • How does it work?
  • Why is our instance showing 0 duplicates when we can see the duplicates?
  • What are the gotcha’s to watch out for?

I could use help with a data designer I am trying. The preview results are not giving me what I think it should.

Hey Scott, hope you’re well! I have two quick questions for you about custom fields in CTA layouts. I think the answers are “no,” but want to confirm.

  1. Is it possible to have help text appear when a user hovers over a field (like with the titles of reports on dashboards?)
  2. Can I make a field mandatory depending on a dropdown selection? (i.e. if a user selects “Yes” is it possible to required them to fill out A and B fields, but if they select “No” can they be required to fill out C and D fields?)

Thank you!

Hi Scott,

  1. In Data Designer and in Rules Engine, if you “group by” a field and do a “Count of” a GSID field, the resulting “Count of” is assigned “string” data type instead of “number”. This is confirmed by Gainsight Support, I logged a support case and the answer is this is expected behavior. An additional transform step is required to convert the string to a number.

Could you help to influence a change in this system behavior? To me this is a bug, as “count of” anything is a numeric value.

    Support Case # 305171
  2. I need help debugging a Horizon Rule. IMO the record counts of 2 matrix data sources should be identical but they are far apart and I can’t figure out why.
  3. Is there any way to search for inactive users in a User lookup field? My observation of current behavior is UI searches only allow searching for active users, but riles engine can assign active or inactive users to a User lookup field.

Hi Scott, I’m getting my first question in for today’s (Thu 3/21/24) office hours.

I have a JO program that sends emails based on data I upload via CSV to a custom object. This is a monthly process. Next month I have to delete all data in the object and upload the next month’s data for sending of emails again.

I would rather not have to delete the previous month’s data. I could add an “Email Sent” flag to the custom object, for example, and update my JO participant source to pick records where “Email Sent” != True. But then, once the emails are sent, _how_ do I update “Email Sent” = True? Can that be done directly by the JO after the emails are sent? I don’t see any options in the JO config for such a task.
