Hi Scott,

I just need to know how survey records in 2.0 are stored. Are they stored in the Gainsight MDA table only? or are there any records created in SFDC? I see some custom survey objects in SFDC that were installed from GS managed package. Are those related to just survey 1.0?

S3 rules failing and adding new fields

Hey Scott,

My emails aren’t logging as expected. I think I’m missing something in my Journey Orchestrator configuration. I want to automatically log emails to SFDC as tasks, and I recall using the checkbox in step 6 of the participant configuration, but I don’t recall setting the Task Owner field and I don’t see any values when I click on the picklist.

Let me know what else I need to configure, please and thank you!

Hello @AgassiTran  -- I’ve got the quick answer that you are looking for:

No Salesforce Records are created to store Survey Answers or any other survey data -- in Survey 1.0, years ago, yes, that info lived in Survey objects we installed in SFDC.

Because backing an object out of a Salesforce Managed App package is so difficult for providers, those old Survey objects are still included when you install Gainsight to SFDC -- even just to use the NXT tab in SFDC.  (Similar to when you see SFDC Admins just labeling fields “Deprecate” because it will take too much time to back dependencies out and delete them).

Hope that helps!

Scott

Hello @ayakushevich -- as soon as I dropped off I was able to find some of what I needed.

First, you can share dashboards with Viewer License holders already -- but it has to be by emailing a link to the internal user that they click on to get access to that dashboard.  It works great - but it means that the you or somebody else will have to share the dashboard to the Viewer Users via email-from-dashboard.

When you do that it sends them a link that they click to get a 2nd email with a verification code (if you select the “Enable OTP Verification” checkbox), and then they will have to save that link to continue to go back to look at the dashboard regularly.

As for the “Domain” it has you can select the same domain that you set up for Surveys/JO Programs/etc. - that’s the one you see in the dropdown.  Basically it’s what they see as the URL in their browser when they go to it.

SO - go through the below process, but if you want to test first, do it with a dashboard that’s only available to you -- you can email it to yourself (since it works for both Full and Viewer Users) -- then start sharing the other dashboard link to the Viewer Users who need them.

Separately, I’ll find out when we are planning to release a “Dashboard Viewer” license type/permission.

Setting up for Sharing Dashboard Links via Email:

Hope that gets you rolling!

Scott

Final note for @ayakushevich -- yes, confirmed that the “Enhanced Viewer License” for execs needing dashboard/overview-type access via Viewer is coming relatively soon -- there will be more info during the big Horizon Analytics (think “Reports 2.0”) launch event next Thursday - you can sign up here:
