Hey @Gaelle,

We're not currently working on implementing @mentions in Control.

We had to delay implementing the WYSIWYG editor in Control (was planned earlier this year) due to unexpected difficulties. @mentions was included as part of this.

When we decide to focus on adding the WYSIWYG editor to Control (currently not planned for any specific time), @christophrooms will announce it in one of his roadmap updates 🙂.

Hello all,

As this thread is already about the @mentions.
We are getting questions if there can be a profile option to turn the notifications of @mentions off. Not all users like to recieve the constant flow of mails, so it seems.

And yes, I am aware that we could ask the question, 'then what is going on in this case?'. Because usually the @mention mail is a good thing, without it, @mention has no point as you won't be notified. Also, a user can put a ruling on the Emails.

But those workarrounds and specific cases aside, I think a user should have the right to turn @mention notifications off.

So I'm wondering, as experts, what is everyone's oppinion on this?

Cheers,

Hey Ronald

This idea covers exactly what you've requested: https://community.insided.com/ideas/380.

The workarounds you've suggested make sense, but since end user feedback is really clear (causing a lot of pain) we're going to add a 'kill switch' to disable the mention email notifications. In the future, we think it'll be logical to add a way for users to check their mentions without going to their emails, but that's currently not in scope.

Hey Daniel,

Well thats just great haha, I Used the search to find @mention topics to see if this was already posted, but that topic didn't come up. But that is probabbly me just looking through the top 5 only...

Cheers

I cheekily (and silently) added a bit more description to the topic title (to specifically mention mentions) after you posted your original reply Ronald, so no worries - you did everything you could 😉
