Rest API access for report data?

Hi folks,

Having a hard time searching for this topic now that the community has merged with other products - but is there any capability in the Rest API to pull report data? We often do manual calculations each month / quarter for case deflection, and it would be nice to automate this in Power BI and Rest API. The rest API docs seem to only provide provisions to manage users and community content rather than extract report data though.

Hey @dandre 👋,

We have built a BI connector which can connect tools like Power BI to our Data Lake for more granular and automated reporting. I can add you to the list for our ongoing beta if this sounds like something that will be useful here?

Hi @dandre

I believe that we can only get the raw data from the APIs created(Company, Relationship, Custom Object, Success Plan, Timeline, Cockpit, etc), so if your reports are getting the raw data from them it would be pretty straightforward to get it and process it in Power BI. I don.’t believe you could do the same with a dataspace though bc I believe we don’t have access to dataspaces since they are created as a system object type.

I don’t know much about how it would be processed in Power BI. Why would you need a specific report instead of the same raw data with filters and everything collected directly from the source object?

Thanks @olimarrio - sounds like a plausible solution. Yes, I’d like to be involved in the beta. I’ll connect with our CSM on it as well (Vishwas).

Ah - I think you may be referring to another gainsight product - I was specifically looking for Rest API access to reports for the community platform (aka inSided).

Hi @olimarrio - I would like to be part of the beta as well. Currently I export the needed information and BI pulls from the spreadsheets. Thank you!

Hi @olimarrio, we'd like to be added to the list as well. We use the Microsoft package with Power BI and other power tools. Thanks a lot!
