Hello GS Community! I am wondering if there is a way to report on CSM usage of Success Snapshots. My CS leadership team needs visibility into the frequency of use by CSM and it would be great to see which companies a Success Snapshot was created for.

I searched for a standard object and did not find one. I am wondering if anyone has a way to do this.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @Andy Trevino

Success Snapshots serve as a medium for tokenizing data within slides, specifically for data sourced from GS objects. Currently, there appears to be no established standard or system object dedicated to tracking the usage of success snapshots."

This is also an ask from our leadership as well.

As we we work to improve/standardize our approach and the metrics within a business review, it is important to understand rep uptake and business impact.

Given there is a system email sent to download the file, curious if we can track this through one of the Email objects. I couldn’t find anything but didn’t have capacity to review every field in each of the email objects.

Thanks

Hi @penelope.caven

Success Snapshots themselves are not a data object you can directly report on in Gainsight (i.e., you can’t build a report on “how many times a snapshot was sent” or “which template was used”). Snapshots are a presentation layer that dynamically pulls in data from underlying Gainsight objects (Scorecard, Timeline, Company, Relationships, etc.).

That said, there are a couple of ways teams do get reporting coverage around them:

What you can report on:

  1. Underlying Data Included in the Snapshot

    • Since Snapshots pull from Gainsight objects, you can create reports on those objects directly.

    • Example: If your Snapshot shows a customer’s health trend and open CTAs, you can report on Scorecard History and CTA objects to get the same metrics outside the Snapshot.

  2. Usage Tracking (indirectly)

    • Gainsight does not currently log “Snapshot sent” as an event you can report on.

    • Some teams track activity by creating a Timeline entry (e.g., “Shared QBR deck”) when a Snapshot is used. This lets you report on adoption via Timeline reports.

    • Alternatively, if you export Snapshots and send them through Journey Orchestrator emails, you can measure opens and clicks in JO analytics.
